Dog tracking refers to a canine sport or professional skill where a dog uses its powerful sense of smell to follow a specific scent trail (usually human) left on the ground, distinguishing it from air-scenting or detection work, and it’s used in search & rescue, police work, and recreational competitions to find lost people, evidence, or just for fun.
Scent Work, AKA Nose Work, is a stimulating activity that engages your dog’s natural sense of smell. As a game your dog will use his nose to search for a favorite toy, food, or other item. As a competition sport, your dog will search for hides containing specific odors, such as Birch, or Cypress.
